Over eight days across eight venues in Panjim, an ambitious Arts Festival showcasing visual arts, performing arts and culinary arts is attracting discerning art lovers from across the country and innocents like me.

Today at the Adil Shah Palace which houses the visual arts gallery, a hall was allotted for performing arts and throughout the day there were scintillating performances.

I managed to sit through an enchanting dance form, the SATTRIYA classical dance from Assam.

“Sattriya (Assamese: সত্ৰীয়া), or Sattriya Nritya, is a major Indian classical dance.

It is a dance-drama performance art with origins in the Krishna-centered Vaishnavism monasteries of Assam, and attributed to the 15th century Bhakti movement scholar and saint named Srimanta Sankardev.” Wikipedia

A wholesome experience ! Kudos to the organisers ! I am sure this will be a regular feature !
